I bought a predecessor to this printer, the HP Deskjet 4480, in late 2009. It worked fairly well for two years and then had a sudden catastrophic failure. Mid-way through a minor print job, it suddenly stopped printing and displayed an error message saying the ink cartridge was corrupted. After purchasing $50 of new ink, I loaded the new cartridges in and immediately got the same error. HP's support page was not helpful, and they would only discuss the problem with me for a $20 fee (no service included in this fee). The next printer I buy will NOT be an HP! Poor reliability, poor service.
